Triggers, crashing plates and stubbed toes- the common path

I wanted to share this with all of you - as I think you get it too. We are all in this together🙏

My turn to share, yes everyone is imperfect and you and I will have to own it, be happy with it, and just keep chipping away.

For instance, I bike about 10 hours per week on my eMTB. Clears my head and keeps my body primed for anything - but I am in Bali and no bike… grrrh. So, I have to adapt- every morning it’s 1 push up for each year (73) that starts the motor with some serious work; however its only a few minutes and … even I can’t find any excuses not to do it.

Then, I also am improving in my push ups and that is rewarding - bonus! Next comes the squats and the deep stretches that follow. Then its coffee time (reward), Later in the day I will either surf 🏄 or walk with Gayel for at least a hour…. Since I am not moving 10+ hours per week…. At the same intensity, I need to be more careful about how much I eat also. I am happy with this😀

A Buddhist monk once told me not to take the teachings to seriously. They were just ideas about how to tackle your own demons/triggers and you need to write your own “pugas” Bible- book of verses or what ever lets you see you for what you are. 😳

I think most of us are incredible and moving forwards taking on all the challenges in our path - my demons are just to make sure I honour mine first - so I can still be on the planet to do whatever else it is I get to do.

What I am trying to say is triggers will always be their because as the Buddha said - life is suffering -Everyone is in the club (fist noble truth)

However, there is an end to suffering (second Noble truth) and it is understanding the causes of suffering (third Noble truth) - usually in our minds BTW, and to just let them go..

I think we do not have to work on triggers, just smile and say -“ I will come back and visit you tomorrow - if its really important, I am sure it will be there for me to work on.” Triggers are blessings - the stubbed toes of walking down the street of life! Eventually we know every brick, rock or crack in the road and go months and years go by without stubbing our toe again.. and then…

Anyway, just wanted to let you know we are not alone on this journey, and you have learned so much in a short period of time- like being a first year juggler, just out of circus school. You are gonna drop a few plates!

Life is it 🙏
